Does my file leave my device?+
No. Reading, cleaning, verification and download creation happen inside your browser. The file is not sent to our server.
How do I remove EXIF and GPS metadata from a photo?+
Choose a JPG, JPEG, PNG or WebP file, review the detected privacy categories, select location or any other categories you want removed, then create and download the clean copy. JPG also lets you write a few common replacement fields.
Will cleaning reduce photo quality?+
No. For supported JPG, PNG and WebP files, the cleaner removes metadata container blocks without drawing or recompressing the image pixels.
Can I edit or remove individual PDF metadata fields?+
Yes. Standard PDF properties such as title, author, subject, keywords, creator, producer and dates can be kept, replaced or removed independently. XMP packets and document identifiers can be kept or removed, but not edited directly.
Why are encrypted PDFs not supported?+
A browser tool cannot safely rewrite protected content without its encryption credentials and full format support, so this tool refuses those files.
Does this guarantee that every hidden item is gone?+
No browser checker can guarantee every proprietary or content-level trace. This tool removes the supported standard metadata listed above; it does not inspect visible content, attachments, annotations or steganography.
